The problem
A content site aimed at topical authority needs a structure that can hold years of future articles without becoming a pile of unrelated posts.
The approach
Eight subject-area hubs — each a browsable category — sit alongside dedicated Games, Books and Free Printables sections. Every article carries category, read time and a featured image; FAQ blocks are written as direct question-and-answer pairs, the format built for featured snippets and AI answer engines.
Key decisions
Hub-and-spoke before articles
Eight categories were planned as permanent hubs designed to accumulate depth over time, rather than adding categories reactively as content was written.
Technical SEO in place at launch
Canonical URLs, full Open Graph and Twitter card coverage, descriptive title/meta patterns, and category-level landing pages shipped on day one rather than being retrofitted later.
